Great article in The New York Post — “Prince’s 1st tour stop is London singer’s living room“ — Shows the guy is not merely an outstanding artist but also uniquely thoughtful on issues ranging from anti-piracy lawsuits to the real “point” of being a musician – a few highlights (but please read the rest . . .)
- “Prince and the band showed off its funk-laced, punk-edged sound in an unannounced late-night set at the Electric Ballroom, a landmark venue in north London’s music heartland of Camden. He said he’d be back at the club on Wednesday — “A lot earlier and a lot funkier. . . The trip to London, he said, is “open-ended . . . We’re going to be here until people don’t want to hear us anymore.'” [Note: not the “living room” mentioned in the headline – which, incidentally, is yet MORE proof Prince really does just enjoy PLAYING GREAT MUSIC at least as much as being a star]
As far as I’m concerned, may the funk get “funkier” for MANY years to come.
